Nancy is a native Arizonan and mother to two boys. She pursued undergraduate studies in Psychology and Fine Arts. Growing up, she has always been interested in color and texture. Although involved in many art mediums, she found her passion in clay
She has had formal ceramic training through the Tucson Museum of Art and Pima Community College. Throughout the last 18 years Nancy has searched out teachers in many styles and techniques. She has learned hand building methods, Raku, Salt Firing, Wood Firing, Pit Firing, Native American techniques; along with the chemistry of glaze and the history of clay.
Nancy has almost 1500 square feet of studio space inside and outside her home. In her kiln yard, she has three LP gas kilns and three electric kilns. This collection of kilns enables her to fire her clay for a full range of processes. She also has a small wood fire pit for more natural, uncontrolled finishes.
Nancy is a member, in good standing of the Southern Arizona Clay Artisans (Tucson), Arizona Designer Craftsmen (Tucson) and the Arizona Clay Association (Phoenix). She lives in Tucson with her husband Ron, and two dogs.
