Elaine Dow

You can live without pottery, but why would you want to?

Like William Morris, I believe the ideal environment should have only objects that are either beautiful or useful, and my goal is to make objects which are both.

Museums and libraries are my main source of inspiration.  I also get inspiration for decoration and form from other arts, especially woodworking, silversmithing, embroidery and gravestone carving.

My pots are made from earthenware, stoneware and porcelain clays.  They can be put in a dishwasher and used in a microwave or regular oven.  Website [email protected]  (520)326-0803
